ADO-EKITI— Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has sworn- in members of newly constituted local government caretaker committees in the 16 local government areas of the state.
At the swearing in, Governor Fayemi charged the officials to ensure probity, transparency and accountability, even as he asked the Directors of Administration and Treasurers in the councils to proceed on compulsory leave.
Fayemi who decried perceived low performance by many of the dissolved caretaker chairmen, revealed that he had set up monitoring mechanism to put the chairmen on their toes for effective performance.
He tasked the caretaker chairmen to tar not less than five kilometers road in their respective localities within the next three months.
The governor equally asked them to place priority on youth empowerment and shun practices that could compound the suffering of the poor in the state.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, a re-appointed Council Chairman of Ijero Local Government, Mr Jonathan Atibioke, urged his colleagues to gear their efforts towards complementing the 8-point Agenda of Fayemi-led Administration.
