The Crème de la crème in Government, royalty and shipping will converge in Lagos today May 19, for the much-expected unveiling and public presentation of the re-branded international journal of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Ports Today.
Ahead of the event, eminent personalities; including the Honourable Minister of Transport, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman, the Chairman of the board, Chief Tony Anenih, MFR. Some royal fathers, as well as several key stakeholders have all confirmed their attendance.
The President, African Business Roundtable, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, CON, will be the Chairman of the occasion which will also feature two guest lecturers. The first lecture which is titled: “The Pains and Gains of Port Reforms in Nigeria”, will be delivered by former Managing Director, NPA, Chief Adebayo Sarumi, OFR, while the second lecture which is on “Greenfield in Ports Development: What Approach?, will be delivered by another ex-chief executive officer of the Organization, Malam Bello Gwandu MFR.
Giving a further insight into the ceremony, the General Manager, Public Affairs, NPA, Chief Michael Kayode Ajayi explained that the 56- page all colour, glossy magazine is a reflection of the new orientation of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
“The journal is a reflection of the new NPA that is evolving”, he stated, even as he added that the new publication is a product of several months of hard work and planning.
According to him, Nigerian Ports Today is a quarterly publication of NPA and a dependable and most credible corporate compendium in the maritime and allied sector of the Nigerian economy.
“What we have put together is a collector’s item and we promise that the quality and depth of its contents can only get better after the unveiling”, he assured, even as he refused to give a sneak preview of the journal.
The NPA image maker also added that the highpoint of the event will be when the Minister of Transport, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman unveils the journal. He also disclosed that it will be publicly endorsed by three major stakeholders.
