LAGOS-ABOUT 125 curriculum vitaes, CVs, and representations have been forwarded to Governor Babatunde Fashola Lagos State and other prominent decision makers in the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the state to secure appointments to the state executive council on May 29.

Vanguard gathered that Governor Fashola may have to contend with top ACN chieftains who are determined to influence the shape of the incoming administration and also dictate policy direction.

As a result, sources said that key cabinet and government positions, hitherto held by Fashola’s loyalists, may be given to party stalwarts as compensation for their loyalty.

Vanguard learnt that pressure was being mounted on the governor to change personnel in the office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG; Ministries of Finance, Housing, Justice, Works, Agriculture, Tourism, Sports and in the special advisers’ portfolios in the commerce and industry ministries.

It was gathered that because of Governor Fashola’s preference for technocrats, power brokers in the state such as former Governor Bola Tinubu, Speaker of the State House of Assembly and Chief Justice of the State, who were believed to have their preferred candidates for various positions in the cabinet, were said to have met brick walls.

Apart from the office of the SSG, the key battle ground ministry would be finance with three serving commissioners eyeing the seat.
