Fashola sacks Housing commissioner over alleged anti-party activities

By Olasunkanmi Akoni

LAGOS – Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, relieved the Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Dele Onabokun of his appointment with immediate effect.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Hakeem Bello, Fashola directed that Onabokun should hand over to the most senior official in the Ministry.

A source who would not want his name mentioned told Vanguard that the commissioner was sacked for  activities inimical to the interest of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and administration of Governor Fashola.

He was alleged to have been campaigning and canvassing support for Labour Party, surreptiously. Vanguard learnt that Onabokun, during the last Saturday National Assembly election, worked for the election of Labour Party candidates in the state.

The former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu, who is Onabokun benefactor, directed Fashola to effect his immediate sack to serve as deterrent to others, who may have the same motive.
