Port Harcourt – Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has told her kinsmen of Okrika, that they cannot afford to be in opposition  party in Rivers State in view of what they stand to gain by aligning with the ruling party the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

An Okrika man, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, is contesting the governorship of the state on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

Mrs Jonathan announced at a rally in Okrika that her husband was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and that the ruling party in the state was equally PDP and as a daughter of the state from Okrika, her people would not afford to vote otherwise.

Dame Jonathan, who was in the state to mobilize Rivers women to vote in the general elections, was of the view that the PDP government in Rivers State had brought peace to Okrika and the rest of the state in its three and a half years in power.

“Goodluck Jonathan is a chosen one, Governor Chibuike Amaechi is the chosen one,” she said.
