Vincent Enyeama returned to training on Tuesday, but says he is still two weeks away from full fitness.
Enyeama withdrew from Nigeria’s 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier against Ethiopia with a back injury, and has missed two games for Hapoel Tel Aviv as he continues his recuperation, but the goalkeeper told KickOffNigeria.com that he is back in training.
“I started training yesterday but I need to rehabilitate my muscles before I can start playing again and that will be in about two weeks,” he said.
That means the goalkeeper would have been out for a month, and missed four games for his club, but he is confident of being ready for the Israeli league playoffs.
“I should be ready for the playoffs. I just thank God it is not longer than one month. As long as i come back fully fit,” he said.
It means the goalkeeper will be available for Nigeria’s high profile friendly against Argentina on June 1 and the must-win return fixture against Ethiopia five days later.
