As the general elections commence on Saturday, citizens of Bayelsa State have been advised to vote for Chief Timi Alaibe as the next governor because of his track record as chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

Making the plea at an interactive session with journalists at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, a South Africa based Nigerian businessman, Mr. Nathaniel Inyang, said “Alaibe is a visionary and trustworthy candidate, who would improve our lot.”

The Akwa Ibom born chemical merchant urged Bayelsans not to  forget what Timi Alaibe did in the area of social infrastructure, poverty alleviation and healthcare while he was the NDDC boss.

He said: “Bayelsa people need a purposeful leader, who will bring accelerated socio-economic growth and also create a conducive environment for investors by providing adequate security for all.”

Inyang claimed that Timi Alaibe and the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, have a lot in common in the area of masses oriented programmes, stressing that governors who have rendered service to their people should be returned through the ballot box.

He noted: “Nigerians should not be too conscious of political parties, rather they should look for the qualities in the candidates they are voting for so as to determine whether they are tested and trusted,” adding that the time has come for Nigeria to live up to the big image it parades in the international community.
