Nigeria under-23 coach , Austin Eguaveon is seeking to boost his coaching credentials by doing well with the national Under-23 team at the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

Austin Eguaveon
The former Eagles’ defender and coach, will take a shot at his ambition to win the African Games soccer gold when he plays Equatorial Guinea Saturday in the London 2012 Olympics qualifier Saturday in Benin City.
Eguaveon sees the game as a must win and according to him it was time he and the players justified their long stay in camp.
“Our aim is to go to the All Africa Games and win the gold and not just qualifying for the Olympics.
“We have been together for about three weeks and I have been impressed with the attitude of the boys.
“Right from our time in Abuja to our arrival in Benin, the boys have shown eagerness to learn and improve,” said Eguaveon.
The Nigeria Football Federation is expecting Eguaveon to produce result with the team. He has been told to emulate the 2008 exploits made by the under-23 team at the Beijing Olympics.
A good outing by Eguaveon will no doubt boost his CV. He has not made any significant impact since he took up coaching for club and country.
