GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan has said that most incidents of kidnapping in the state were politically motivated as shown by the current trends. He, therefore, advised political opponents to play by the rules by soliciting for votes through issue-oriented  campaigns.

Governor Uduaghan, who said that staff salary alone in the state amounted to over N6.2billion, further revealed that the government had employed over 15,000 workers from 2007 to date.

The governor charged contractors to the state-owned oil intervention agency, DESOPADEC, to be patient with the government as efforts were being made to sanitize the system before payments were effected. Dr. Uduaghan made the remarks at the special edition of the Delta Broadcasting Service programme, tagged, Make Country Better, at the Broadcast House, Warri, weekend, after commissioning the N1.6billion state-of-the-art digital FM radio and television station.

According to him, “Radio is one of the best means of communicating with the grassroots as it gives them the relevant information on government policies and programmes.”

Uduaghan who said his greatest challenge in the state was how to tackle the rate of rumour mongering, added that with the completion of the broadcast station, which is now operational, the issue of rumour mongering due to lack of information will be a thing of the past.
