Taiwo anxiously awaits Premier League suitors

Eagles defender Taye Taiwo has his fingers crossed as he is still waiting to know which English Premier League club will win his signature during the summer window.

This is just as Liverpool are looking to grab the want away Olympic Marseille player who made it clear he was through with playing his football in France.

The Anfield giants who punished Manchester United last weekend with 3-1 win are in dire need of a left back to replace Paul Konchesky and they have Taiwo in their plans if their pursuit of Newcastle’s Joe Enrique failed to materialise.

Taiwo would be out of contract in the summer after he refused to commit to Marseille. And he has been linked to several clubs in the English league including Tottenham and Manchester United.

“If I was to depart, then I would not join a small club. It will be Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal,” Taiwo said in an interview.

“I am not scared by the level in England. I believe I have the right level to defend against [Wayne] Rooney.”
