Heineken holes out Le Meridien Golf Open

The maiden edition of the Le Meridien Golf Open will hole out today at the Ibom Resort in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State with Heineken standing out as one of the major sponsors of the tournament.

The 36-hole amateur competition started Friday with a field of over 120 players drawn from across the country in the frame to win some of the attractive prizes on offer  at the prize giving gala.

Apart from prizes, the Le Meridien Open will be offering special holiday packages to some choice destinations in Africa and Europe to some of the lucky golfers.

Heineken, the premium beer of the Nigeria Breweries, is investing in the Le Meridien Open because of the strategic position occupied by Ibom Resort as the future hub of golfing activities and tourism in Nigeria.

The Le Meridien Open will now join the rank of the Nigeria Cup at Ikoyi and Heineken Golf Tournament at Ikeja as some of the golf classics that have the mark of Heineken

The Nigeria Cup, prided as biggest community cup in the country, and staged to mark the Independence Day golf tournament, has for over a decade benefitted from the largess of Heineken.
