FORMER Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA),  Kashimawo Laloko has lambasted those that mooted  the idea of putting forward former NFA Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima to contest the vacant  FIFA Executive Committee seat vacated by disgraced Dr. Amos Adamu in the elections held Wednesday in Khartoum, the Sudanese capital.

Speaking in Lagos, the former Gambian National team coach not only denounced the idea but also described  it as “immoral for anybody that thought of a putting a Nigerian  in the FIFA executive committee when one of us had only just been booted out.”

He said, “the period should have been observed as one for sober reflection for us all to consider about what happened to one of us (Adamu) and then reorganize ourselves.

“It was fool-hardy for anybody to think that Alhaji Galadima would have come out victorious in the FIFA election.

In my estimation, it was quite immoral for anybody that thought that. Dr Amos Adamu is not an unknown personality in CAF and FIFA. so to have clamored for that seat was immoral. By now we should know that there is a lot of politics going on in FIFA because if we are to go by personality, I think Danny Jordaan should have been there now,” Laloko said.

Continuing, he said, “I am not happy that Alhaji Galadima contested in that election. We should have allowed the fresh injury by Adamu’s ouster to heal. FIFA wouldn’t like Nigeria to undermine them. How can FIFA say a Nigerian should go and rest for a while and you are bringing in another Nigerian to take over, I don’t think that is right.

So we failed in the politics of FIFA. The NFF misled the National Sports Commission (NSC) into allowing another Nigerian to feature in that election. They forgot that many of them there in FIFA are still Dr. Adamu’s friends, having a lot of influence and sympathy for him. So it was wrong for someone to have thought of such an idea. I think we should never have betrayed ourselves in such a manner,” he added.
