Bright and intelligent secondary school graduates in Nigeria especially the indigent ones aspiring to study abroad on scholarship can now heave a sigh of relief as a group known as United World Colleges has released forms for a two year scholarship programme.

The life changing offer which is coming from the coffers of United World Colleges (UWC), the only global education movement that brings together students from all over the world irrespective of race, religion, politics and the ability to pay with headquarters in London is for a two year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) equivalent of A level that is widely recognized by leading Universities throughout the world.

In a media parley held last week at the UWC secretariat, Nicholas Building, Lagos, Professor Isabella Okagbue, the Chairperson of the Selection Committee announced that the application forms for the programme is now on sale and it will close in March, 7. She also stated that eligible students who must be in ages of 15 to 17 should apply through the National Working Committee or pick the forms in their schools at the cost of N5,000.00 only.

Continuing, the learned professor stated that UWC which was founded in 1962 with 13 colleges scattered in many parts of the world have so far graduated over 34,000 students who are doing well in their different fields. But regretted that despite the successes recorded by the institution Nigerians have not benefitted much from it and called on government, school proprietors and parents to pick the forms for their wads so that Nigerians will benefit from the programme like others.
