A 30-year-old man Tajudeen Oyerinade, and four others now at large, have been arraigned before a Yaba Magistrate Court Lagos, on a three-count charge of allegedly stealing 3,300 litres of kerosine products valued at N2.1 million.
The kerosine is said to be property of one Babafemi Fagbuyi.
The charge against the accused persons read, “that on April 22, 2009 at about 1700hrs at Heyden Oil, Iddo, Lagos, you did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit, stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap. C.17,Vol.II, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
The accused person, was, however, granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum by the trial magistrate, Mr. A. Isaacs and the case was adjourned till January 19.
The charge preferred against the accused read,“ that you Tajudeen Oyerinde and others now at large on the above date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial district did steal 33000 litres of DPK Keroine products value at N2,113,000.00, property of one Babafemi Fagbuyi and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 390(9)of the Criminal Code Cap.C.17,Vol.II,Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
*That you Tajudeen Oyerinade on the same date ,time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District with intent to steal did forged the truck Reg.No.XL 774 FST with intent that it may be used or acted upon as being genuine either in Lagos or elsewhere to the prejudice of some persons and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 467 Cap.17,Vol II, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria.
