AHEAD the governorship re-run, next month, in Delta State, an assembly of former militant leaders, the Delta Ijaw Mandate and a conflict management expert, Prince Clement Bebenimibo, weekend, urged Deltans at separate fora in Burutu and Warri to vote massively for the former Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The former militant generals and commanders, including Bonny Gawei, Young Enabina, Figbele Aboy and Frank Akiefa, aka Ebi Kokos held a rally in Burutu Local government Area of the state to drum up support for Uduaghan, while Prince Bebenimibo spoke in Warri.
According to Bebenimibo, “my general appeal to all Deltans is that Uduaghan is the necessary evil that we can manage for now. Let us allow him to complete his two terms. He cannot do worse than what the oil companies have done to us in this region”.
Coordinator of the Delta Ijaw Mandate, Mallam Yusuf Eregbene, who played host to youths from Itsekiri, Ijaw and Isoko as well as Dr. Victor Orubebe campaign organisation in Warri said, “let us work for only leaders who deliver the wishes of the people.”
