Chevron sites projects in Ondo

TWO projects in the health and education sectors have been commissioned by Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), through one of its subsidiaries, Star Deepwater Petroleum Limited in Ondo State.

This is part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the area  where it carries  out exploration.
The two projects are a chest clinic at the State Specialist Hospitals, Akure and a science laboratory at Igbokoda, headquarters of the oil_producing Ilaje local council.

Speaking at the ceremony, the General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs of CNL, Femi Odumabo, said the company, by such ventures, “would continue to demonstrate commitment to conducting business in Nigeria in a socially responsible manner.”

Odumabo said that “adding value to the lives of the people an d contributing positively to the socio-economic development of Nigeria is one of the major focuses of Chevron.”

He said that because of the location of the Agbami Ventures and in line with Deep Offshore Community Affairs Group (DOCAG) engagement principles which stipulated that the entire country is the company’s community, “many of these projects have been embarked upon throughout the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor  Olusegun Mimiko  said his administration had made quality health care delivery to the people of the state a top priority.
