Court sacks Adamawa APC Rep-elect

This was revealed by the state’s  Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Prof. Riskuwa Shehu in a press briefing Thursday evening in Kano.

The REC stated that 55 political governorship candidates and 768 candidates will contest for state assembly under 46 political parties.

Responding on the recent court judgement ordering a fresh primaries for the People’s Democratic Party PDP within two weeks and the fate of the  party’s gubernatorial candidate Abba Kabir Yusuf, the REC explained that nothing of the court judgement has been copied to his office.

He said that he read about the judgement in the papers like any other person and it is for the court to send it to the INEC headquarters from where the REC will be copied. He added that up to the moment he was addressing the press there was no such copy from the headquarters.

Garba also said that all the lapses in the presidential election have been reviewed and all corrections have been taken saying that some ad hoc staff have been replaced.

He reminded the electorate that according to the regulations of the conduct of the election, “where a community refuses to allow the ad hoc staff to use the card reader, such a community will be scored zero.”
