FGN’s OTC bonds turnover drops 107.9%

A turnover of 88.7 million units worth N74,678.5 million in 700 deals was recorded last week, in contrast to a total of 184.43 million units valued at N179,774.82 million exchanged in 1,068 deals during the week ended Thursday, November 11, 2010.

The most active bond (measured by turnover volume) was the 10.00% FGN July 2030 (7th FGN Bond 2030 Series 3) with a traded volume of 37.6 million units valued at N28,839.3 million in 343 deals.

This was followed by 4.00% FGN April 2015 (7th FGN Bond 2015 Series 2) with a traded volume of 19.2 million units valued at N14,481.52 million in 181 deals. Nine (9) of the available thirty-five (35) FGN Bonds were traded during the week, compared with twenty-one (21) in the in the preceding week.

Meanwhile, six companies released their score cards to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), with
Total Nigeria Plc’s unaudited result for the third quarter ended 30th September 2010 showing a turnover of N121,995.61 million, as against N131,090.45 million in the comparable period of 2009. Profit after tax stood at N4,195.52 million compared with N2,922.81 million in 2009. The net asset value stood at N8,367.11 million compared with N6,982.83 million in December 2009.

The Board of Directors of Total has recommended  an interim dividend of N2.00 per share. The date of closure of register of members has been fixed for November 30, 2010 while payment date has been scheduled for December 13, 2010.

Union Bank of Nigeria Plc unaudited result for the third quarter ended 30th September 2010 shows a  Gross Earnings of N85,565 million, as against N142,618 million in the comparable period of 2009. Profit after tax stood at N6,807 million compared with loss after tax of N127,886 million in 2009. The Net Liability Value stood at N244,152 million compared with N238,328 million in December 2009.

7-up Bottling Company Plc unaudited result for the half year ended 30th September 2010 shows a turnover of N22,828.7 million, as against N17,853.42 million in the comparable period of 2009. Profit after tax stood at N972 million compared with N853.71 million in 2009. The Net Asset Value stood at N10,188.71 million compared with N8,973.76 million in March 2010.

Northern Nigeria Flour Mills Plc’S unaudited result for the half year ended 30th September 2010 shows a turnover of N5,300.3 million, as against N5,360.31 million in the comparable period of 2009. Profit after tax stood at N372.81 million compared with N328.71 million in 2009. The Net Asset Value stood at N1,576.92 million compared with N1,458.42 million in March 2010.

Tripple Gee & Co. Plc’s unaudited result for the half year ended 30th September 2010 shows a turnover of N221.12 million, as against N300.64 million in the comparable period of 2009. Loss after tax stood at N38.6 million compared with profit after tax of N2.1 million in 2009. The Net Asset Value stood at N651.45 million compared with N864.84 million in March 2010.

Evans Medical Plc’s unaudited result for the year ended 31st March 2009 shows a turnover of N3,523.7 million, as against N4,465.24 million in the comparable period of 2008. Loss after tax (rebate) stood at N889.6 million compared with loss after tax (payment) of N510.1 million in 2008. The Net Liability Value stood at N65.81 million compared with N823.8 million in December 2008.

Guinea Insurance Plc’s unaudited result for the year ended 31st December 2009 shows a Gross Premium of N1,169.85 million, as against N935.5 million in the comparable period of 2008. Loss after tax (payment) stood at N13.4 million compared with profit after tax (rebate) of N75.35 million in 2008. The Net Asset Value stood at N3,297.4 million compared with N3,338 million in December 2008.

African Alliance Insurance Plc’s unaudited result for the year ended 31st December 2009 shows a Gross Premium of N1,430.4 million, as against N1,229.5 million in the comparable period of 2008. Loss after tax stood at N1,699.62 million compared with N7,962.7 million in 2008. The Net Asset Value stood at N20,167.03 million compared with N20,966.2 million in December 2008.
