PRESIDENT BUHARI AND YOUTH WING OF OHANAEZE NDIGBO

Former APC Presidential aspirant, Chief Charles Udeogaranya has urged Buhari supporters to stop playing politics with Zik’s name and leave Ohanaeze alone.

PRESIDENT BUHARI AND YOUTH WING OF OHANAEZE NDIGBO
According to Udeogaranya, “Since Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was laid to rest, I have taken it on myself and singlehandedly sponsored annual Nnamdi Azikiwe Remembance Day every November 16th of every year with a call to immortalise Zik with a national day of honour. As a Zikist, I find it painful that some supporters of Buhari, with Gov Willy Obiano are using Zik’s name to tell lies, insult Chief Nnia Nwodo and to fight the Igbo nation that is currently well represented by the Ohanaeze.
“The credit of Onira Retreat Centre that harbours Ziks Mausoleum should go to General Sani Abacha and President Goodluck Jonathan for laying the foundation and completion to the tune of 97 per cent and not to President Buhari that did a three per cent job in a region he can only give five per cent and some people wants Ohanaeze to endorse Buhari or attend his deceitful function uninvited as I was not even invited.”
“I was at the Ohaneze Imeobi, where we endorsed Atiku and High Chief Nnia Nwodo gave every room to accommodate the opinion of Buhari supporters to an extend that he delayed us till after 5PM for them to come and express thier opinion but they ran away, knowing fully well that the last thing Ndigbo would want to hear is a mere mention of Buhari, talkless of endorsement.
“Azikiwe himself would never endorse Buahri and Zik said it himself “ Man shall not be wolf to man”. The conducts Buhari’s government today, are they not man being wolf to man?
Buhari supporters should please leave Zik, Ohaneze and Ndigbo alone, . We and by the grace of God have decided that Buhari we once saw, we shall see no more as Nigeria democratically elected President.”
Similarly, Ohanaeze spokesman, Chuks Ibegbu has warned commentators and politicians to stop overheating igbo polity
“Since the issue of adoption of Alh Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for the 2019 presidential election by Ohanaeze Ndigbo, we have noticed positive and negative commentaries and press releases by those who support or oppose the endoresment. This is the beauty of democracy.

However , the issue must not be allowed to torpedo Igbo collective interest in Nigeria. Some of the commentaries are unbecoming and pedestrian and the language raw.
“Whether we are for or against the decision , the approach has to be civil after all our concern is the wellbeing of Ndigbo and Nigerians .Ohanaeze position has always been that we would support Presidential candidates ready to restructure Nigeria. I am aware that promises can be made and not kept but atleast its better made than not made.
“There is no single approach to this issue but that must not be allowed to create rumpus in Igbo polity. There are many routes to Arochukwu and the basic aim is actually to get to Arochukwu no matter the route followed. The ultimate is that whoever finally wins the presidency, Ndigbo should get their fair share in Nigeria.
“I therefore warn those fanning the embers of disunity in Igbo land over the matter to sheathe their sword. Let all the candidates go to the field and win their votes . Ohanaeze is never divided and will never be and all Igbos irrespective of party affiliation belong to it. Yet the group has the moral duty to protect the political interest of Ndigbo too.”
