Yenagoa—Succour is on the way for two teenagers in Bayelsa State suffering from spinal cord injury and multiple burns as the NGO, Centre for Gender Values and Culture, founded by the wife of the state governor, Mrs. Alayingi Sylva, has moved them for corrective surgeries in South Africa and India respectively.

The teenagers, Samuel Aneidima, aged 15 a student of New Total Child Academy who was involved in an Okada accident in which he  sustained a spinal cord injury,
is to undergo a spinal cord surgery in South Africa, while Master Happiness Plato (13years) with severe burns sustained five years ago from a domestic fire
accident is to under multiple plastic and reconstructive surgery in India.

Speaking at a farewell ceremony held for the beneficiaries in Yenagoa, Head of the Medical Team of the Centre for Gender Value and Culture, Dr. Ayibatonye
Owei, said the victims’ medical difficulties were brought to the attention of the wife of the governor and the centre by letters of appeals from the authorities of the New Total Child Academy and the Daisy Children Home in which the fire victim was located after the disaster claimed the lives of his parents.

In her speech Mrs. Alayingi Sylva pledged to continue to sponsor children for medical aid.
