In a seeming reaction to the protest on the rejection of the accreditation of Vanguard man, Patrick Omorodion for the 2018/2022 World Cup host announcement, FIFA yesterday confirmed his accreditation for the event.

The world body in an e-mail to Mr Omorodion yesterday wrote “FIFA is pleased to hereby confirm your media accreditation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ and 2022 FIFA World Cup™ Host Announcement.”

Asking that he confirms the receipt of the accreditation confirmation, the Media department stated that “the registration confirmation which is generated automatically only confirms that you have completed the application form correctly but is not a confirmation of your accreditation. As such only after review of each applications they will be approved or rejected.”

In rejecting the application on Monday, FIFA had stated in an e-mail that “Due to limited capacity, we regret to inform you that your accreditation request for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ and 2022 FIFA World Cup™ Host Announcement has been rejected.”

This came two days after he wrote on the credibility crisis in FIFA which was heightened by the affirmation by a former scribe of the body, Michel Zen-Ruffinen that some members could actually be swayed to sell their votes for money or women
