ABUJA—Delta State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, suffered a major set back in membership with the dumping of the party by the Senator representing Delta Central senatorial district, Prof. Adego Eferakeya, and governorship aspirant, Chief Ovie Omo-Agege.
Though, they did not indicate the party they were decamping to in their letters to the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, but it was gathered yesterday that they were moving to Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, just as they noted that the move was as a result of alleged factionalization in Delta State PDP.
In separate letters to the national chairman and made available to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Senator Adego Eferakeya and Ovie Omo-Agege, a former Secretary to the State Government, said they were leaving the party on account of the composition of illegal PDP officials in the state.
According to Eferakeya, in his letter, the “decision is predicated on the unresolved crisis in Delta State chapter of the PDP and thus my political prospect in the party is in jeopardy.
