ASABA—DELTA State Police Command, yesterday,  said that the civil servant, who was recently arrested for falsifying employment letters issued  applicants will soon be charged to  court.

State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka, while briefing newsmen on progress made in the matter so far, said “investigation is in progress. We are not leaving any stone unturned. Already, we have formally written to the Delta State Civil Service Commission forwarding the purported  forged letters  of employment for authentication.

We have also written to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for legal advice and his ministry too. You know he (suspect) is a civil servant, so we are following the normal process before charging him to court.”

The civil servant (names withheld), was arrested shortly after the state Civil Service Commission came out with the list of successful applicants during its recent recruitment exercise.

He was arrested and taken to the Police ‘A’ Division, Asaba Divisional Police Station.

Trouble started when one of the applicants, who applied for  the civil service job,  raised alarm that she had been duped after coughing out N180,000 to the suspect  to secure employment.

It was gathered that in order to save himself from the embarrassment, he issued out a letter of appointment to the lady applicant, which was discovered to be forged.
