ABUJA—National Association of Catholic Lawyers yesterday condemned the call from some quarters on President Goodluck Jonathan to resign on account of two bomb explosions which rocked Abuja, claiming more than 10 innocent lives on a day Nigerians were celebrating the nation’s golden jubilee.

The association in a statement by Barristers Okechukwu Opara and James Ugbede president and secretary respectively said such call was dangerous and must be ignored.

The association, however, noted that the time was ripe for every policeman to hold a life insurance worth at least N5million. It also advocated for an immediate upward review of salaries and allowances of the police as a way of motivating them to serve the nation better in their primary role of protecting life and property of the citizenry.
