Nigerian wrestlers at the 2010 Commonwealth Games have been given pass mark by their coach, Daniel Igali.
This was after Welson Ebikewenimo settled for silver in the 55kg category freestyle, while Dick Adibo won bronze in the 84kg category. Those were the last wrestling medals delivered by the team.
Ebilewenimo was denied the gold by Pakistani’s Hussien Azzar. He could have joined in the class of gold medallists like Christiana Nwoye, Sinivie Boltic and Joe Agbonavbre.

“We’ve had a fantastic outing no doubt about it. Winning three gold three silver and seven bronze is a remarkable achievement by our wrestlers.
“If only we had the kind of preparations we wanted, we could have done better. But I give kudos to all the guys, they have done well,” said Igali.
