The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, CON, will be examining the impact of the Asset Management Act and recent monetary policies of the CBN on at the Regulators Forum of the 16th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES).
Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi will be joined by Ms. Arunma Oteh, Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission; Mr. M. K. Ahmad, Director General, National Pension Commission; Mr. Fola Daniel, Commissioner of Insurance, National Insurance Commission and Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, Managing Director, National Deposit Insurance Commission to discuss the coordination of strategies now in place to effectively supervise the nation’s financial system thereby preventing the regulatory failure and ineffective corporate governance that led to the 2009 crisis.
The session will also focus attention on the progress of the reforms in the financial system, especially in the banking sector and capital market.
The 16th Nigerian Economic Summit, themed “Nigeria @ 50: The Challenge of Visionary Leadership and Good Governance” is organized by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group in partnership with the National Planning Commission and will draw discussants and participants from the public sectors, private sector and business leaders.
Other sessions of the summit include the Presidential Policy Dialogue, the Emerging Leaders Forum, Dialogue with the Economic Management Team (EMT), Election 2011 Debate and Sectoral Policy Dialogues.
