In a statement he issued, Udeogaranya said: “Self-deceit has hit a historical milestone when our dear President Muhammadu Buhari declared to Nigerians and citizens of the world outside the shores of Nigeria in Lome, Togo that majority of Nigerians are with him as purportedly reported.
“Respectfully Mr. President, how can the majority of Nigerians be with you when virtually all the Nigerian former Heads of State and power brokers have left you with their cult followers nation-wide, publicly?
“Members of our party at the National Assembly and their grassroots followers in their local constituencies recorded a historic avalanche of defection such as has never been witnessed before in the political history of this country against a ruling party even in the face of possible severe persecution. Was this defection as a result of my candidacy or yours?”
According to Chief Udeogaranya, “under no administration even during the civil war, has Nigeria recorded massive joblessness and worthless enumeration on the few engaged, against high inflation of goods and services mainly caused by your administration direct devaluation of our Naira currency and poor economic performance, and yet the brunt is on this same vast majority of Nigerians who are now tagged as citizens of the largest territory of the poor people in the Universe.”
Udeogaranya lamented the security situation in the country saying many had hoped the president should excel in that regards being his primary base.” constituency.
