OLEH—A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Chief Abikelegba Odhegolor, has accused the chairman of the party in the state, Prophet Jones Erhue, of doing “his own bidding” and ignoring the directive of the party’s National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, to harmonize and accommodate various interest groups in the state and local government executives of the party.

Speaking at the APC secretariat in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state, shortly after inaugurating Sir. Godwin Dinwabor as Chairman of the party in the council, Odhegolor, a former member representing Isoko federal constituency in the House of Representatives, described Oshiomhole’s efforts in reconciling warring factions of the party in the state as “a beautiful stride.”
He, however, said: “l am afraid that the instructions he (Oshiomhole) gave are not being carried out. The state chairman was directed to go to the state and harmonize the executive and then go to the local government chapters and do the same thing and bring love among members for the strength of the party and the same should go down to the wards.
“He was supposed to liaise with other factions and all of them will agree and make sure that various leadership positions are occupied by members of each of the groups. l am surprised that this is not to be as he has gone ahead to do his own bidding, leaving others out.
“We heard that some people wrote names which were submitted to him and he is going ahead to work with those persons without the interest of the people.
“After the reconciliation meeting, he inaugurated a man who was never part of the local government congress in Isoko North and some other persons not known to us. Because the man was not part of the congress, they went into the bush to inaugurate ward executives for a party in a local government where l, a national leader of the party, live.
“I have told the National Chairman about what has happened and I have put up a letter .”
