2027: NNPP candidate promises better representation for Patani/Bomadi

…Seeks support of community leaders

BOMADI— The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) candidate for Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency in Delta State, Gabriel Perekonbowei Andrew, popularly known as Nemine Okaba, has pledged to provide effective representation and promote infrastructure and human-capital development if elected to the House of Representatives in the 2027 general election.

Andrew made the pledge yesterday during a consultation meeting with the Forum of Former Community Chairmen (FFCC) in Bomadi Local Government Area.

The meeting, held in Kpakiama community, was attended by former community chairmen from various communities across the council area.

Andrew said the meeting was to formally inform the grassroots leaders of his decision to contest the Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency seat and seek their support ahead of the election.

He said the constituency required improved infrastructure and human-capital development, particularly the establishment of a higher institution of learning.

According to him, Patani/Bomadi remains the only federal constituency in Delta State without a higher institution owned by either the state or federal government.

“Our constituency needs both infrastructural development and human-capacity building; we are falling behind in nearly all essentials of life.

“Our federal constituency needs higher educational institutions from both the federal and state governments,” he said.

Andrew said, if elected, he would collaborate with relevant authorities to facilitate the establishment of a higher institution in the constituency.

He also promised to ensure equitable distribution of constituency projects across Patani and Bomadi local government areas.

The NNPP candidate appealed to constituents to support his candidacy, saying his experience working with politicians had given him an understanding of the challenges confronting the people.

“I have worked for politicians since my early youth, some of whom are now political leaders in the federal constituency. I understand our struggles as a people, and my mission is to address these challenges during my four-year tenure,” he said.

He also urged voters to reject inducements in exchange for their votes, arguing that such short-term gains could undermine the long-term development of the constituency.

“My appeal to my constituents is to vote for the progress of Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency by granting me their mandate. They should resist the temptation of voting for instant money that would impoverish them for another four years,” Andrew said.

Responding, the FFCC, through Mr Gabon Tinaka of Ogriagbene Community and Barr. Omoro Theophilus Akpoebimone of Esanma Community, thanked Andrew for formally informing them of his decision to contest.

They encouraged him to remain committed to his ambition and resist pressure to withdraw from the race.

The forum also pledged to support his candidacy within their respective communities.
