The founder of the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation and the Nigerian Humanitarian Awards, Emmanuel Anabueze, has called for stronger collaboration among the government, private sector, civil society organisations and individuals to address Nigeria’s humanitarian challenges.

Speaking in an interview, Anabueze said although many Nigerians are making significant humanitarian contributions, the country’s social and economic realities demand a more coordinated response.

“There are many committed humanitarian actors in Nigeria, but the scale of our challenges requires stronger collaboration. Government, businesses, nonprofits and individuals must work together if we are to achieve sustainable development,” he said.

He urged the government to create enabling policies for nonprofit organisations while encouraging businesses to invest in sustainable social impact rather than occasional donations.

Anabueze also advocated a national framework that would strengthen nonprofit organisations, encourage philanthropy and promote transparency and stronger partnerships between government and humanitarian institutions.
