A frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress,APC, in Kwara State, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB), has reaffirmed his resolve to decisively tackle the state’s worsening security challenges if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Bolarinwa made the declaration in Abuja on Saturday during the submission of his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to APC executives,an important milestone that signals the formal takeoff of his governorship campaign.
He stressed that restoring peace, strengthening public safety, and safeguarding lives and property would form the cornerstone of his administration’s agenda.
“It is my wish, by the grace of God, to enhance the quality of life and health of our people and make things better than they currently are. Most importantly, insecurity has taken over many parts of the state,Kwara North, Kwara South, including my own area. Several communities are now deserted, with a growing humanitarian crisis caused by bandit attacks.
“This is one challenge that must be confronted head-on, and it will top our agenda,” he said.
The APC aspirant, who officially declared his ambition on April 28, 2026, also underscored the importance of strengthening social services as a pathway to improving living standards across the state.
He pledged priority attention to quality healthcare, education, social welfare, and other essential public services, noting that governance must deliver tangible, people-focused outcomes.
According to him, his administration would be anchored on a people-centred vision aimed at expanding opportunities and ensuring responsive service delivery across all communities.
“All critical sectors that directly impact the lives of our people, agriculture, education, and healthcare, will receive the attention they deserve. I assure the people of Kwara that the future will be better than the present,” he added.
Expressing confidence in his bid, Bolarinwa said he is not only in the race to contest but to win and succeed the incumbent governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
“I am not just contesting; I strongly believe I will emerge victorious and succeed the current governor, who has done his part and continues to serve the state,” he stated.
Bolarinwa’s political trajectory spans grassroots and national governance, having served as Councillor, two-term Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, and later as a two-term member of the House of Representatives.
He was accompanied to the submission by executives of the Egbe Omo Igbomina FCT Chapter and presented his forms to the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Mohammed Argungu.
