The City Boy Movement on Thursday took its South-South mobilisation drive to Edo State, where Hon. Suleiman Abubakar Magaji and Governor Monday Okpebholo declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election while calling for greater youth participation in governance.
The meeting at Government House, Benin, brought together youth leaders and political stakeholders in what observers described as a significant boost for the movement’s growing national reach.
Addressing stakeholders, Magaji said the movement was committed to building a new culture of youth engagement rooted in empowerment and development.
“This initiative is about giving young Nigerians a stake in governance. It is about inclusion, opportunity and building a future where youths are part of decision-making,” he said.
He said the South-South tour was designed to galvanise support at the grassroots and connect the movement’s message directly with young people.
“The response in Edo shows there is growing belief in what we are doing. The mission is expanding because the people see value in it,” Magaji stated.
Governor Okpebholo also endorsed the movement and reiterated his support for Tinubu’s second term, saying continuity was necessary for sustained development.
Magaji further stressed that support for Tinubu was tied to broader aspirations for stability and progress.
“Continuity matters. Supporting Tinubu is supporting a process that we believe can deliver opportunities for the next generation,” he added.
The City Boy Movement delegation was led by Seyi Tinubu and included Minister Ayodele Olawale, DG Shoga Francis and other national leaders.
