The convener of the On Point Expression fashion showcase, Abba George Enoyi, popularly known as OnPoint, has described the event as a deliberate effort to create a platform where fashion, creativity, and cultural identity converge in a way that is both authentic and globally competitive.

Speaking after the successful holding of the showcase in Ikoyi, Lagos, he said the inspiration behind the event came from a long-standing desire to spotlight emerging designers and reposition Nigeria’s fashion industry as a serious contributor to global creative economy conversations.

He said, “On Point Expression was born out of a need to create a space where creativity is not just displayed but properly experienced. We wanted to move beyond fashion as aesthetics alone and present it as storytelling, culture, and innovation.”

He explained that the idea was also influenced by the growing energy within Nigeria’s creative sector, particularly among young designers who often lack platforms that combine visibility, structure, and industry access.

“We are seeing incredible talent across the country, but many of these creatives need the right stage, the right audience, and the right support system. This event is our response to that gap,” he added.

Reflecting on the outcome of the showcase, the convener expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the overall execution of the event, describing it as a validation of the vision behind the project.

“I am deeply fulfilled by what we witnessed. The energy in the room, the quality of designs, and the response from guests show that we are on the right path. It wasn’t just a fashion show; it was a cultural statement,” he said.

He also acknowledged the contribution of partners, designers, hosts, and guests, noting that their involvement was critical to the success of the showcase.

While expressing optimism about future editions, he said the long-term goal is to grow On Point Expression into a continental fashion platform that connects African designers with global markets and opportunities.

“This is only the beginning. What we have done here is set a foundation. The vision is to scale this into something that consistently bridges African creativity with global fashion conversations,” he said.

The convener concluded by appreciating attendees and stakeholders, adding that the success of the event reinforces his belief in the power of collaboration within the creative industry.

Among notable guests who graced the event were Pastor Flourish Peters, Dotun of Cool FM, Osas Ighodaro, Funny Bone, Dami Adenuga, Tope Olowoniyan, I Go Save, Sexy Steel, Larry Gaaga, D Senator, Kenny Blaq, Patoranking and many more Nigerian celebrities and public figures.
