An unspecified number of armed members of Boko Haram terrorists have invaded Kaurikari village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, killing a Commander of Hunters, Mallam Bumto and Wavi Kautikari.

The incident also left many residents to fled into the bush for safety, as Sources said, foodstuffs and livestock were looted by the attackers.

Kautikari has witnessed series of deadly Boko Haram attacks in the past, even as the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Keneth Daso’s phone number was not reacheable at press time to ascertain number of casualties.

Sources revealed that the insurgents struck the Christian dominated community at about 6pm on Monday wrecking havoc, as residents flee for safety.

A Kautikari indigene who reside in Maiduguri the state capital, Mr. John Audu confirmed the incident to our Correspondent at about 6:56pm, saying: “Families let us pray for our people in Kautikari which is currently under Attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists”.

But according to another resident who pleaded ananimous said, the Chairman of Hunters in the community, Mallam Kumpto and and his member, Wavi Kautikari were killed while repelling the attack.

He also said, “many residents fled into the bush for safety”.
