Steve Amuda, an aspirant for the African Democratic Congress in the Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat, has criticised the Ondo State Government over what he described as unfulfilled promises and infrastructure challenges in the area.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Amuda highlighted the poor state of rural roads in parts of Akoko North East and North West, noting that many communities remain cut off from major markets and economic opportunities.

He pointed out that despite increased federal allocations following the removal of fuel subsidy, visible development projects have not reached many areas in the constituency.

Amuda also raised concerns about rising insecurity in some communities and called for urgent government attention and coordinated security interventions.

The aspirant emphasised the need for “practical governance” focused on tangible projects, improved living standards, and economic growth.

He referenced his background in managing donor-supported programmes and experience working with international development partners, stating that his qualifications in political science, international relations, peace and conflict studies, and related fields position him to attract meaningful development initiatives to the constituency.

Amuda said he would formally present his agenda to voters once the Independent National Electoral Commission opens the campaign window, urging residents to support what he described as a credible alternative focused on infrastructure, economic empowerment, and security.
