The Rotary Club of Lagos, District 9112, yesterday hosted its Annual President’s Dinner, celebrating over 60 years of impactful community service and setting the stage for an even more ambitious 2026 agenda.

President of the Rotary Club of Lagos, Rotarian Toki Mabogunje, framed the event as a “milestone for us to reflect” and a moment to “deepen our network and raise funds for our social club fabric.”

Highlighting the essence of the club’s mission, Rotarian Mabogunje detailed a year of significant projects completed since July. These include a joint effort with a health firm to combat maternal and child mortality challenges; the launch of a cybersecurity initiative for youth in collaboration with CYBERNOVR; and an impactful outreach that empowered market men with over N2 million in grants and vital health talks.

Rotarian Mabogunje disclosed: “We partnered with the district and provided free surgery for children to restore confidence and hope for a brighter future.”

She attributed the success of these extensive projects to Rotarians and friends of Rotary. “None of this projects would have been possible without you. It’s your unwavering commitment and genuine contributions that make it possible.”

Looking ahead, she stressed, “As we celebrate tonight, our gaze is firmly on the horizon of 2026. The projects we have planned are necessary; they will require a renewed and robust commitment from everyone of us.”

District Governor of District 9112, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin, welcomed attendees, recalling his history with the club as a former Assistant Governor. “Let me congratulate the president for this dinner. It’s ten years old today, and it has become a tradition that must continue,” he remarked.

A major highlight was the address by Omoefe Siakpere, Executive Director of Flobal Financial Services Limited, the Diamond Sponsor of the dinner. Emphasizing a philosophy of patience and integrity, Siakpere stated, “Money doesn’t shout, and opportunities speak in whispers, and only those who hear it can act on it.”

She elaborated on Flobal Financial Services’ seven-year organic growth strategy: “While many institutions rushed into fund raising, we chose a philosophy that shaped who we are: to grow organically, to operate conservatively, and to build strongly. Integrity to us is above everything else.”

Siakpere then presented an exclusive opportunity to the sophisticated audience: Flobal is “preparing for a historic transition within the next three to four years.” As part of this strategic growth initiative, the firm is raising N2 billion structured for a select circle of sophisticated partners, offering a “private debt increase plus exclusive equity conversion window.”

Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Ayodele Patrick Aderinwale, delivered poignant remarks on the nature of philanthropy. Expressing gratitude for the honour, he highlighted the crucial role of Rotary: “For me, what Rotary represents is vital to societies.”
