The former British plus Commonwealth Light Heavyweight boxing champion, Peter Oboh, has expressed sadness over the resignation of BBC’s Director-General Tim Davie and CEO of news Deborah Turness.

They resigned after accusations that a Panorama documentary misled viewers – for editing a speech by Donald Trump, making it look like he was explicitly urging people to attack the US Capitol.

According to Peter Oboh, “It is so sad that BBC Director General Tim Davie, and CEO of news Deborah Turness resigned on Sunday night after criticism that panorama misled viewers by editing speech by Donald Trump.

“However, irrespective of the error, BBC, Aljazeera and CNN are still among the biggest in the world when it comes to real news. 100%, BBC is meant to be reliable because millions of viewers believed in the news they received from them.

“The old adage still stands that says, every day for the thief but one day for the owner. I remember last year, I was in the UK when some false name-spoiling news came out against Nigeria’s late great prophet T. B. Joshua.

“When I made my own personal investigations, I discovered they were all false information to spoil the late Nigerian great man of God’s name – Prophet T. B. Joshua.

“My advice to the BBC is to first expel the bad eggs among them; second, to be 100% sure before publishing any news item to the world, because millions of people believe whatever they disseminate,” Peter Oboh said.
