Andrew Adeboye, known as Yvng Nova, isn’t just another name in the crowded rap scene; he’s a one-person powerhouse hailing from Edo State.

Frustrated by the exorbitant costs of music production, Nova took matters into his own hands, mastering the arts of production, mixing, and mastering. His journey began modestly in 2013, during his JSS3 days, when he composed a rap verse for a chapel competition. Although he didn’t perform it live, the experience ignited a creative spark that remained dormant until 2016. That year, he began crafting beats for friends using only his phone, showcasing his innate talent and resourcefulness.

Nova’s creative fuel comes from a diverse mix of personal grit and admiration for cultural icons ranging from Ronaldo to Eminem and even Naruto. Musically, he holds Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and J Cole in high regard, but his foundational influences include legends like Michael Jackson and rock giants Linkin Park. This eclectic blend has shaped his unique hip-hop style, setting him apart from his contemporaries. His first official release marked a turning point, striking a chord with listeners and earning him a dedicated following. One fan recounted how Nova’s lyrics echoed her own feelings, underscoring his remarkable ability to connect with his audience on a deeply personal level. Nova sees his music as a vehicle for inspiration and motivation, giving voice to the emotions people often keep hidden.

From hustling to perform at every local show to headlining “Whitenoise Live in Concert” alongside his friend Shaun, Yvng Nova has consistently challenged himself and pushed the envelope. A significant milestone came in 2023 when he won Odumodublvck’s Picanto challenge, taking home a $500 prize and further cementing his status as an artist on the rise. Looking forward, Yvng Nova is fully committed to his craft and has plans to drop a new project before the year ends, promising to deliver even more of the inspiring and motivational music his fans have come to expect.
