The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Osun State has described the APC as an anti-workers party over it purported directive to Local Government workers to resume or get sacked.

The reinstated local government council officials had during their resumption to the various council secretariats on Monday directed council workers to resume or get their work determined.

However, the PDP in a statement issued by its Media Director, Oladele Bamiji on Tuesday, disclosed the threat as mere harassment and the party’s penchant for lawlessness.

“The copy and paste threat by the sacked chairmen, who have reduced themselves to hopeless tools of perdition in the hands of their demonic grandfathers in the Apc, have once again brought to question, why the Apc, right from the days of their progenitors, decided to always work at cross purposes with the wellbeing and happiness of the public workers”

He also described organized Labour as indispensable partners in nation-building and economic well-being of a state like Osun, and without doubt, must never be treated like some unfortunate slaves, who could be ordered around by some angry infants, to validate evil machinations against the state.

He then urged the state government through the local government service commission to protect the state workers in the local councils and insulate them against any unwarranted threats, especially now that the APC and its ignorant ball boys have resorted to open and unbridled death threats against the innocent workers, whose only sin to APC, is their resolve to protect themselves from the cross-fire danger of violence orchestrated by troubled opposition by withdrawing their services.

Reacting for APC, Mr Jamiu Olawumi described the PDP as a desperate party who is ready to hold on to anything on its path to perdition.

“You can see that the PDP is the one encouraging the workers to disrespect the rule of law. Their desperation at this time knows no bound. The situation here is simple, a Court has reinstated our elected officials and if you’re dissatisfied you go to a higher court instead of inciting the workers to disobey order of the Appeal Court”, he said.

Meanwhile, a former lawmaker in the state, Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloye has called on the federal government to take judicial note of the illegality being perpetrated in the state, especially holding an election in the face of the Court of Appeal judgement, urging FG to only release allocation to the reinstated council officials rather than the illegally inaugurated officials.

“I want to appeal to the federal government to start releasing the monthly allocation to the APC reinstated council chairmen in the state as from this month.

“The chairmen were unable to work since 2022 when they were sacked, but now that the Court of Appeal have reinstated them, the allocation should be released to them. This is the time for people at the grassroots to feel the impact of government which had been neglected since 2022.

“I want to also commend the Inspection-General of Police for ensuring peace in the state and the way he approached the security challenges professionally,” he said
