Osogbo, Osun State – Hon. Olujinmi Asagade, Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has unequivocally assured Osun State residents that the local government election scheduled for tomorrow will proceed as planned, despite disruptive antics by the opposition party, the APC.
During a press conference in Osogbo, Hon. Asagade stated, “The election will go on as scheduled. Our democratic process is sacred, and we will not allow the APC’s attempts to create disorder to derail this essential exercise.” He emphasized that the opposition’s maneuvers, intended to sow confusion, would not affect the integrity of the electoral process, which has been meticulously prepared by the state’s electoral authorities.
In his address, the chairman also commended the exemplary leadership of the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke. “Governor Adeleke’s maturity in handling the APC’s shenanigans has been commendable,” Hon. Asagade remarked. “His calm and decisive approach not only reinforces the stability of our governance but also ensures that the voice of the people remains paramount.”
Security agencies have been briefed and are on high alert to maintain peace and order during the election. Hon. Asagade called on all Osun State residents to participate in the electoral process peacefully and responsibly. “It is our collective duty to uphold democratic values and ensure that our state’s progress is not compromised by needless disruptions,” he added.
With Governor Ademola Adeleke’s steadfast leadership and the unwavering commitment of the state’s electoral machinery, Osun State is set to witness a smooth and transparent local government election, reinforcing the democratic principles that underpin our society.
