The Campaign for Equal Rights and Opportunities for all Nigerians, CERON, has urged President Bola Tinubu to prioritize policies that would improve the living condition of Nigerians in the year 2025.
The Secretary of CERON, Mr. Francis Odiir who made the call in a statement in Makurdi stated that the economic condition in the country had made life unbearable for Nigerians hence the urgent need for deliberate action by the government to tackle the economic challenges the country was grappling with.
He noted that the year 2024 was the most difficult for Nigerians in recent years advising that the Federal Government should come up with policies that would ease the hardship in the country.
According to him, “there is no gainsaying that life was unbearable for majority of Nigerians in 2024. We witnessed unprecedented poverty in the land which forced countless families to go to bed without food because they could not afford it.
“In fact the level of poverty in the land which was made worse by extremely high cost of food was unimaginable. That is why we are urging President Bola Tinubu to prioritize policies and programmes that would turnaround the living condition of Nigerians in 2025.
“Though we have heard from top government functionaries that the reforms introduced by the administration would start yielding fruits this years. We hope it would not be another political talk because there are no signs to that effect at all.
“We are advising that sustainable measures be put in place to drive down inflation and the cost of living in the country because that remains a major source of worry for Nigerians.
“If that is not done, I am afraid Nigerians would undoubtedly b resentful of this government because like they say, a hungry man is an angry man.”
