ABUJA – THE Federal Government through the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation HOCSF, has posted a new Permanent Secretary, Dr Marcus Olaniyi Ogunbiyi, Tuesday, to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
This was made known in a statement issued on Wednesday, by the Information Department of the Ministry and made available to Vanguard.
According to the Ministry, Ogunbiyi, resumed officially on Tuesday 24 December 2024, as the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Ogunbiyi thanked the Ministers in charge of the Ministry and the Staff for the warm reception accorded him on his posting and resumption.
Meanwhile, the new scribe pledged to drive the Tinubu-led administration’s ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda for the agricultural sector geared towards achieving food and nutrition security as well as enhance the economic growth of the country, while he acknowledged that agricultural sector is among the top four priority areas of Mr President’s ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda as it concerns food security, job creation, poverty alleviation and economic growth.
He said: “It is a homecoming, with a PhD in Agriculture Engineering , open door policy and wealth of knowledge, we will take the Agric sector to higher and higher level .”
However, he tasked the directors on the need to support the Ministers driving the Ministry’s mandate in order to achieve their goals as far as food sufficiency and boosting the economy are concerned.
Earlier in his remarks, the outgoing Permanent Secretary of Ministry, Mr. Temitope Peter Fashedemi, thanked the management and staff for the support given to him over the period he was in the ministry and appealed for equal support to be accorded to the new Permanent Secretary
The highlight of the ceremony was the signing, handing and taking over documents by the outgoing and incoming permanent secretaries.
