In commemoration of the 16 days activism against gender based violence, a campaign dedicated to ending violence against women and girls worldwide, . Women at Risk International Foundation (WARIF), has concluded plans to hold its 6th ‘No Tolerance March’.

In what its regarded as advocacy that has become a movement dedicated to raising awareness against the prevalence of rape, sexual violence, and gender inequality in Nigeria and across the world, WARIF will on December 7, stage a march against gender based violence to join its voice to campaign.

With the theme, “UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls,” WARIF has called for global solidarity to address GBV and create lasting change.

Stating the importance of the campaign, Founder of WARIF, Dr. Kemi DaSilva-Ibru, said, “This collective action of the NTMarch reminds us that change begins with all of us. Ending violence against women and girls requires bold and consistent actions from every sector of society.

“Since its inception in 2019, the NTM has become a powerful symbol of collective action, rallying thousands of participants, including celebrities, influencers, men, women, and youth, in Nigeria and across the world to stand with WARIF in saying “No Tolerance” to violence against women and girls.

“The 2024 NTMarch will take place in multiple cities once more around the world on three continents, in Africa Nigeria will hold the March in the cities of Lagos, Abuja, and Ibadan, and in South Africa in Johannesburg; Across Europe in Frankfurt, London, Manchester and on the North American continent in New York, Houston, Minnesota and Washington D.C

“All proceeds from the NTMarch will support survivors of rape and sexual violence who seek free post-incident services that include Forensic Medical Examinations and Treatment; Psychosocial Counselling as well as Social Welfare needs such as shelter and legal aid attended to at the WARIF Rape Crisis Centres.

“All services are offered free of charge to survivors and together, we must unite, invest, and implement sustainable solutions to break this devastating cycle of abuse.

“Together, we can create a world where every woman and girl live free from fear and violence”, she said.
