The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN Lekki and District Society, LEDS has highlighted potential areas of collaboration with Ascension Consulting Services, Ascension. 

A team from the District lead by the Chairman, ICAN LEDS, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Olaniyi, paid a courtesy visit to the firm so as to foster collaboration and explore potential partnerships between the two institutions.

Olaniyi called for recruitment opportunities for ICAN members at Ascension while staff and partners of the firm, join the institute as a way of balancing the relationship and achieving ICAN’s catch them young initiative.

She listed some of the potential areas of collaboration to include: facilitation of webinars and other thought leadership initiatives; recruitment opportunities for ICAN members at Ascension, staff and partners of Ascension joining the District and support for the Catch Them Young initiative which is targeted at reaching out to students in order to inspire them to join the profession.  

In his remark, Senior Partner of Ascension, Azeez Alatoye, assured the district of support in all areas of collaboration highlighted by the chairman.

He emphasized the need to clearly delineate and align location of organizations and residences of ICAN members to the appropriate district they should belong.

Alatoye said: “Ascension, being in Lekki should be a member of the ICAN LEDS. The Catch Them Young initiative should focus more on soft skills, not only technical skills, as the right attitude and disposition is required for success.
