Benue SUBEB Executive Chairman, Dr Grace Adagba and BPP acting Director General, Olusegun Omotala during the visit

The Executive Chairman of Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba has called for increased synergy between the Board and the Bureau for Public Procurement, BPP, for sustained improvement in procurement procedures at the Board.
Dr. Adagba emphasized that such collaboration would help improve the skills and knowledge of her staff and enhance the Board’s contract award processes.
The Chairman in a statement issued Monday in Makurdi by the Board’s Information Officer, Emmanuella Akese, made the call when she led a delegation on a courtesy call on the acting Director General of the BPP, Mr. Olusegun Omotala.
The statement noted that Dr. Adagba “expressed gratitude to the BPP for the support provided to Benue SUBEB, particularly in the area of manpower development for technical staff towards ensuring effective execution of projects.”
“She also highlighted the extensive training facilitated by the BPP for SUBEB technical staff on due process and public procurement procedures, which has significantly enhanced the Board’s contract award processes.
“She further called for increased collaboration and synergy between the two bodies to ensure continued improvement.”
Responding, the BPP Director General reaffirmed the Bureau’s commitment to its statutory duty of training stakeholders to meet the Federal Government’s procurement standards.
He emphasized that in the discharge of that responsibility the BPP strives to elevate all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, MDAs, involved in procurement to meet international best practices.
Earlier in separate remarks, the BPP Director of Compliance, Isaiah Yusuf, and Director Procurement and Physical Infrastructure, Bello Nasir assured that the Bureau would always be available to guide on procurement procedures and encouraged Benue SUBEB technical staff to pursue further training in procurement for enhanced service delivery.
The Procurement Officer of Benue SUBEB, Mr. Terkimbir Dyegh expressed appreciation to the BPP for its support, noting that the collaboration had greatly improved procurement activities at the Board.
Also on the entourage of the SUBEB Executive Chairman were the Director Physical Planning and Technical Services, Mr. Innocent Ugbudu, Internal Auditor Mr. Danladi Ochefu, the Desk Officer Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, Projects, Arc. Dickson Orkoh among others.
