APC has finished Nigeria, PDP dead – Kwankwaso
By Henry Umoru
ABUJA – The 2023 Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under President Bola Tinubu, stating that the party’s unpopular policies have worsened poverty and hunger in the country.
According to the former Kano State Governor, the APC is also struggling to address the nation’s security challenges.
He didn’t spare the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claiming it is rapidly losing popularity, while the NNPP is growing rapidly.
Kwankwaso, speaking at the 7th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the NNPP in Abuja, described the PDP as a “dead party,” citing its current internal crisis.
Kwankwaso emphasised that the NNPP has become the only party capable of providing true leadership to address the needs of Nigerians and bring relief to the people.
He said, “Our party has been doing so well that we, at the leadership level, are satisfied with our progress.
“And of course, this success always attracts envy from outside and attacks from within and outside the party. I am so happy that despite all the challenges, today, our party is the fastest-growing party in this country.
“I remember when I visited Katsina State to open our state office, I mentioned that the PDP was dead, and there were many concerns within the PDP fold.
“I’m sure, at that time, many didn’t understand what I was saying, but now they must agree with us that the party is falling apart and is imploding.
“As for the APC, you can see that its leadership is detached from reality, while the people of this country are suffering.
“They may believe they are doing well, but all of us, especially the voters, know they are performing poorly, particularly when it comes to security, the level of poverty in the country, and the hunger we’re witnessing.”
“So, thank God that both the APC and PDP are in decline, while our party, the NNPP, is on the rise. We thank Almighty God for that.”
On his part, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Engineer Buba Galadima said, “While other parties are faltering, people are flocking into the NNPP.
“There is no party growing as fast as the NNPP. Our party enforces discipline at all levels, and we follow the rules without faltering.
“No other party has leadership quality like ours. They are jealous of us.”
Earlier in his remarks, the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, expressed satisfaction with the party’s membership drive and the introduction of a new membership card.
He urged members to strive to obtain the new card, stating, “At some point, the party took difficult decisions. We swiftly dissolved executive committees in Bauchi, Taraba, Gombe, Oyo, and Benue states and instituted caretaker committees (CTCs).”
He called on the CTCs to provide strong leadership for the party, urging all members to remain loyal to the party’s leadership.
