Can you tell us about your upbringing and valuable lessons to be learned?

I grew up in a mix of sweet and challenging moments, coming from a humble background with parents who were both strict and deeply disciplined. Those early years taught me the value of perseverance and the importance of never giving up, no matter how tough things get.

My mother always said, ‘Tough times don’t last, but tough people do’ and those words became my anchor. They built a resilience in me that has been crucial in shaping who I am today. Also, fighting against poverty was an uphill battle, but I’ve managed to climb my way up by holding onto a positive mindset, which fueled my determination to keep pushing forward.

What are the landmark events that made you who you are today?

I vividly remember 2014 as a turning point in my life. That was the year I entered the banking industry, a field I had always been fascinated by, because I wanted to truly understand how money works and this job felt like the perfect opportunity to dive into that world.

However, the environment in the state I was, wasn’t conducive for my growth, so I pushed for a transfer to Lagos State.

Even though Lagos came with its own set of challenges, I never lost sight of the opportunities it offered. That drive to create something meaningful for myself only grew stronger and from that point on, it was one big step after another.

What is your view on mentorship and were there people, who mentored you in life and business?

Mentorship is incredibly important, and I believe every young person should have someone to look up to. I didn’t have just one mentor, but rather a few people who guided me along the way. One of them was the late MD of GTB, Mr. Tayo Aderinokun.

His peaceful, calm, and loving demeanor, especially in how he treated his team, really left a mark on me. He showed me how a single positive action and leading with kindness can make a huge difference in people’s lives.

Ever since, I’ve tried to follow in his footsteps, aiming to have a positive impact on those I work with. That’s why I think it’s crucial for every young person to have one or two mentors they can aspire to be.

At what point did you embrace entrepreneurship and how were you able to become a leading name in the real estate business?

My journey into entrepreneurship started at a young age, when I would help my mother with her business.

Times were tough after my father lost his job, and my older brother had to leave home to learn a trade, following the Igbo tradition. That put me in the role of the elder brother for my younger siblings, and I quickly learned the value of hard work and responsibility.

Also, during my higher learning years, when computers were just becoming a thing, I started teaching myself how to assemble computer parts.

After graduation, I turned that knowledge into a business, training students and setting up computer labs for schools. This experience not only built up my finances but also gave me the foundation to structure my work life. Moving forward, after a stint in the banking sector, I ventured into forex trading and became a certified bureau de change operator.

Each step along the way has been a building block, leading me to where I am today in the Real estate and Forex business. It wasn’t a straight path, but every challenge and experience shaped me into the entrepreneur I am now.

Tell us what motivated your transition from banking to forex

My transition from banking to forex was driven by a mix of curiosity and a desire for more control over my financial future. While working in the banking industry, I gained a solid understanding of how money moves and howfinancialmarkets operate.

But I found myself craving something more dynamic, something where I could apply my skills in a way that directly impacted my financial growth.

Forex caught my attention because it offered that exact opportunity to engage with the markets on my own terms. It was challenging and required a deep understanding of global economics, but I was excited about the learning curve.

The idea of being able to make strategic decisions and see immediate results was motivating. So, I took the plunge, got certified as a bureau de change operator, and haven’t looked back since.

It’s been a rewarding journey, one that’s allowed me to apply everything I learned in banking while giving me the freedom to chart my ownpath.

Tell us more about the Forex business climate, your wins and challenges.

Forex is a tough business. From the outside, people often see the big numbers and assume it’s all smooth sailing, but the reality is far from it. Many jump in without fully understanding how it works and end up getting burned. It’s more than just trading; it is about knowing the ins and outs of currencies like the cable, USD, and Euro, and howthey interact on a global scale.

One of the biggest challenges in this business is trust. Forex relies heavily on it, but unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there waiting to take advantage of you. It’s disheartening, and it creates serious trust issues.

I’ve had my fair share of setbacks, including significant financial losses, but those experiences have taught me valuable lessons about how to navigate the business more effectively.

My biggest win has been having the right people by my side and a strong team to support me. With the right people behind you, you can achieve great things.

What are the key values that have helped you so far in life?

Honesty, transparency, and integrity have been the cornerstone of my journey. These values have not only helped me build strong relationships but have also been crucial in growing my businesses.

In both real estate and forex, staying true to these principles is essential. They’ve guided me through challenges and have been key to mysuccess. Without them, I don’t think I would have come this far.

Do you have any other thing you would like to share with us?

As a young man, I’ve always believed in the power of a positive mindset and the importance of speaking your dreams into existence.

It might sound a bit spiritual, but I truly believe that the universe has a way of aligning with what we say we want. I remember back when I spoke about wanting my first job with a banking with specifics to the name of the bank, it ended up being in the banking industry, which was completely unrelated to what I studied. Yet, there I was, working in a bank. I want to encourage young people to stay positive, speak good things into their lives, keep believing in their dreams, and put in the hard work. Everything will eventually fall into place. No matter what, try to stay away from negativity.
