Ondo Guber: We’ll reward NNPP with massive votes, Akure leaders


— A good turn deserves another

Notable leaders in Akure, the Ondo state capital, have have backed the candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Hon Olugbenga Edema for picking an indigene of the community, Dr. Rotimi Adeyemi as his Deputy Governorship candidate.

The leaders include the Former Chairman of the Akure chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abayomi Ojo, Elder Gabriel Owoyemi, Prince Sunday Temitope Akintide-Gbangba, and Asiwaju Oluwole Ademoyegun, from Akure South, Akure North, and Ifedore Local Governments areas of the state.

They said it was only the NNPP candidate that considered Akure indigene with largest voting population in the state as the deputy governorship candidate for November 16 governorship election.

Speaking on the choice of Owoyemi, as the party’s deputy governorship candidate, the Akure leaders, described the decision of the NNPP in the choice of Dr Adeyemi, an indigene of Akure speaking area a deputy governor nominee as a good turn that would be rewarded with votes in the other. He said the good people of Akure speaking area would not forsake their own.

The former chairman of the Akure chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Abayomi Ojo, praised the NNPP on the choice of Dr. Adeyemi, as the party’s Deputy Governor candidate, saying it is the right decision and the placing of a square peg in a square hole.

Ojo, who is the Vice President of the  Akure South, Egbe Omo Oke Aro, noted with pain that all other political parties neglected to pick an indigene of Akure speaking area for the Deputy Governor’s slot, save for the NNPP.

He said that the voting population of the people of Akure-speaking areas is such that could not be toyed with and these shall be delivered to their son Dr.Adeyemi at the election”

Also, a prominent Akure leader and Prince of Igushin community in Akure North Local Government area Prince Temitope Akintide-Gbangba, in his congratulatory message, commended the NNPP on the choice of Dr. Adeyemi as Deputy Governorship candidate of the party.

He noted that it is only the NNPP of all the political parties in the state that has chosen an indigene of Akure as Deputy Governorship candidate from the Akure-speaking areas of the State.

According to him” NNPP has chosen a worthy, tested, trusted, and reliable personality in the person of Dr. Rotimi Emmanuel Adeyemi.

“I pray for the success of the NNPP deputy governorship candidate and implore people to vote for him en masse.”

On his part, the immediate past President of Association of Akure indigene, Asiwaju Oluwole Ademoyegun,  applauded the choice of Dr. Adeyemi as the NNPP Deputy Governorship candidate in the State.

Ademoyegun noted that it is an oversight for all other parties to have neglected the choice of making an indigene of Akure speaking area their Deputy Governorship candidate.
