Rotary international collaborating to promote humanitarian values

District Governor of District 9141 Rotarian Emeke Utebor has said Rotary would continue to make lasting impact in humanitarian projects, service and community development across the globe.

The district Governor made the remark during the signing of the Rotary intercounty committee , RIICC, protocol agreement in Tanzania by fifty five countries.

In a press statement made available to the Vanguard in Warri, Delta state, Utebor explained that the agreement was among several districts in Africa and Taiwan to promote values of commitment to humanitarian service and development of communities around the globe.

“As we celebrate this achievement let us reflect on the potential for positive change that arises from such
international collaborations. Together we have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on humanitarian initiatives, community development and Rotary’s overarching mission of service above self.

“Together Rotary is committed to making a lasting difference in the world, continuing to create positive peace.

“The global family of Rotary looks forward to the transformative


impact that will result from this unprecedented collaboration.”

According to the statement, at the historic signing agreement in Tanzania were all District Governors and Governor-Elects of participating districts . Also the RI ICC Executive Board President, Past District Governor (PDG) Mohamed Ghammam and his executives witnessed the exercise.

The statement further read in parts,:”The ceremony was graced by among others, Past Rotary International President (PRIP) Gary Huang, Rotary International Director-Elect (RIDE) Naomi Lin for Taiwan (Zone 9) and RID Patrick Chisanga for Africa (Zone 22).

“PDG Mohamed Ghammam highlighted that the Rotary Intercounty Committee protocol agreement is envisioned to be a catalyst for even greater accomplishments, as diverse districts work hand in hand to create positive change, uplift communities, and embody the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self.

“This historic achievement is a testament to the pioneers who made it happen and extends heartfelt congratulations to all the districts in Africa and Taiwan

PRIP Gary Huang, in the statement noted that “the impact of Taiwan and Africa on Rotary global stage has been profound while extending “heartfelt congratulations on reaching the remarkable milestone!”

On his part , RID Patrick also highlighted the significance of the agreement, saying, “The Rotary Intercounty Committee protocol agreement is not just a piece of paper, it is a testament to the potential of collaboration and the strength that emerges when diverse communities unite.

“Today, we celebrate the bonds formed across Africa and Talwan, recognizing that the impact of our collective efforts knows no bounds.”
