THE Young Progressive Party, YPP, has received decampees from the All Progressives Congress, APC; and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, among others, in Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency, in Lagos state.
The defectors, led by the former chairman of the PDP in Ifako, Ashiru George and other APC Members, made this move to support House of Representatives candidate, Peter Falajimi Buraimoh and all other YPP candidates in that division.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chairman, and made available to journalists, yesterday, in Abuja.
Giving reasons for the collapse of PDP and APC structure into YPP, the former chairman said the decision was due to Buraimoh Folajimi’s quality leadership in the Constituency
Ashiru said the parties arrived at the decision to adopt the Folajimi Peter because he appeared the right man for the job.
He, however, said the parties will participate in the governorship, adding that they would make sure they vote Buraimoh Folajimi Peter because of what he has done for his constituency.
“We have seen how he carries out public outreach to orphanages, widows and also students to make sure they are well ok. If we don’t support him now, when can we get it right again?
“We have collapsed our party’s structure into YPP to support Buraimoh Folajimi Peter, in the next elections,” he assured.
While urging them to vote for the party in all elections, the house of representatives Ifako-Ijaiye Federal constituency candidate, Buraimoh Peter Folajimi said: “The YPP is well prepared for the upcoming elections and it is only YPP that can correct the mess that is going on in our constituency.
